Total Allowable Catches of EU Stocks for 2020 Released

The European Commission has attempted to meet its commitment to reach Maximum Sustainable Yield for all stocks by 2020, which has led to significant quota cuts for many stocks. TAC for North Sea cod has been reduced by 50%, following scientific reports of struggling stocks.
Report on EMFF Funding for 2018 Released

The European Maritime and Fisheries Fund's 2018 report has been made public. The report explores how funds were distributed and utilised throughout the sector. The top three most heavily funded disciplines were data collection on fisheries and aquaculture, control and enforcement, and investments in aquaculture productivity.
Predictions for 2020 UK-EU Fisheries Negotiations

The National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations has released a digest on the likely outcomes of an agreement concerning fisheries between the EU and UK. The article covers access, trade, and the transition period, and highlights potential difficulties that may arise during discussions.

New Article on Future of our Inshore Fisheries Conference

The APPG Secretariat has published its reflections on the major conference that took place last October. The event's aim was to 'establish a blueprint for a collaborative management approach' for inshore fisheries and coastal communities around the UK.
