Support for the Fisheries Sector

The coronavirus pandemic has affected nearly every aspect of daily life. The fishing industry has been particularly affected, as fluctuating demand and restrictions on effort have led to hardships for many. The UK and Devolved Administrations have released a number of support packages aimed at mitigating this hardship.

The APPG hosted an online public briefing meeting for attendees to learn more about these measures, and to put any relevant questions to the panel. The meeting took place via Zoom on Tuesday 5 May from 3pm to 4.30pm.

A panel of sector representatives presented on the support packages available for the industry across the UK. Presentations were followed by a Q&A session, where all attendees were invited to submit questions for the panel.
